It may seem that the punching technique is simple - in fact, it is an impression of a carved board on fabric, but, like every craft, punching has its subtleties and technology, which is strictly followed by folk craftsmen (so-called "chimney makers", "printers", "painters" ).

Manual folk carving is a unique phenomenon in Ukrainian folk art. The punching technique is older than embroidery and was invented at the beginning of our era.
