It may seem that the punching technique is simple - in fact, it is the application of an impression of a carved board on fabric, but, like every craft, punching has its subtleties and technology, which is strictly followed by folk craftsmen (so-called "chimney makers", "printers", "painters" ).

Hand-made folk carving is a unique phenomenon in Ukrainian folk art. The punching technique is older than embroidery and was invented at the beginning of our era.
The motifs of the ornaments are diverse and very symbolic.
